This holiday Season, Plant 10 Trees With tentree

Here at Huck Adventures our love for adventuring in the outdoors goes hand in hand with our mission to be good stewards of the environment.

That’s why we are happy to highlight a brand like tentree. They are an Earth-first apparel brand that plants ten trees for every piece of ethical and sustainable clothing they sell.

So far they have planted over 89million trees across the Earth and their goal is to plant 1 billion by 2030.

There’s been a lot of talk in the press lately about climate initiative companies not being legit (John Oliver’s segment on climate offsets, is a great example). But tentree lives up to their promise.

When a piece of clothing is purchased from tentree, they track your ten trees, delivering information to your Impact Wallet.

tentree Impact Wallet

Trees are planted all across the world, including Indonesia and Madagascar.

This level of transparency is unique in the industry, but makes every customer feel like they are part of something greater.

By planting ten trees for every purchase, they hope to make change accessible to everybody and show the lasting impact one small choice can make. If planting ten trees is as easy as buying an article of clothing, then what else can you do out in the world? How can you be a good steward for the Earth with your dollars and the choices you are making through your purchases?

And their clothing is wonderful!

I have visited their booths at Outdoor Retailer on numerous occasions and continue to be impressed by the work and care they put in every product. All of their clothes are either ethically or sustainably made.

tentree Juniper Hoodie

tentree had sent me their Juniper Hoodie to try. This hoodie is amazing! So cozy and comfortable. And it is made with organic cotton that is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer. This hoodie, as comfortable as it is, is good for the Earth!

And, if you’re thinking, “My clothes closet is full, I don’t need anything else!” or “I am not sure what my friend would like as a gift for the holidays,” tentree also allows people to sign up or gift a monthly subscription plan. For $9 or $15 a month, you can have trees planted.

The $9 plan plants 13 trees monthly, offsetting the carbon of an average Canadian’s lifestyle.

The $15 family plan offsets enough carbon for a family of four by planting 22 trees a month.

So, for this holiday season, when you’re thinking about what brands to support, why not plant a few trees?

Solo Stove Launches the First Fire Pit Compatible Pizza Oven, Pi Fire

Solo Stove Pi Fire Pizza Oven

Solo Stove, a home and outdoor lifestyle brand within the Solo Brands (NYSE: DTC) portfolio is excited to share the launch of Pi Fire, the first pizza oven designed to be used with a dedicated fire pit. After releasing the Pi backyard pizza oven earlier this year, Solo Stove is thrilled to provide customers with another pizza making tool. Pi Fire leverages functionality from Solo Stove’s Pi pizza oven, but is uniquely designed to cook pizza over a wood fire pit. The exterior skirt captures the flames’ heat and directs it toward the stone and crust of the pizza, while an inverted demi-dome shape maximizes radiant heating of the top of the pizza. Craving s’mores and pizza? Pi Fire’s long legs provide the clearance needed to bake pizza while still letting you enjoy the fire pit for its traditional uses–so you can operate Pi Fire and access your fire pit at the same time.

Pi Fire is designed for you to relax around the fire while enjoying a leisurely pizza cooking experience. Once the fire is lit, Pi Fire should be ready to cook pizza within 30-45 minutes or when the stone has reached 500-600F degrees. And after launching the pizza, the cooking process should span five to ten minutes, requiring just a few turns of the pizza for an even bake. The results: An extra-crunchy, artisan, grade pizza for you and your loved ones to enjoy while relaxing around the warmth of a smokeless fire.

Solo Stove Pi Fire Pizza Oven

Pi Fire will be sold in three sizes, compatible with the Ranger, Bonfire, and Yukon sizes of Solo Stove fire pits. Pi Fire is also compatible with most of Solo Stove’s existing fire pit accessories,  such as the Surround for protection, Shield to block embers, Sticks to cook s’mores, and Tools to add logs and stoke the fire. Pi Fire is made to be highly portable with its included carry case, so that Pi Fire and artisan-quality pizza can go wherever your fire pit goes. A pair of Solo Stove’s heat-resistant gloves is also included with the purchase of Pi Fire.

Clint Mickle, President of Solo Stove, said, “We have been overwhelmed with the response we’ve received with the launch of Pi this year. One thing we heard from our community was the desire to incorporate our fire pits with the pizza oven. We are so excited to offer our customers the experience of a pizza dinner, and the calmness of a night by the fire, together, in one portable and easy to use product.”

Pi Fire is available for sale on solostove.com and will be available through retailers. Ranger Pi Fire $199.99, Bonfire Pi Fire $259.99, Yukon Pi Fire $349.99.

BioLite Launches New Rechargeable Power Stations

BioLite, an innovator in off-grid renewable energy solutions, is stepping into the portable power market with a new lineup of high-capacity lithium-ion power stations and 100-watt solar panels designed to deliver an efficient, intuitive, and easy-to-use experience for off-grid customers across camping, emergency backup, mobile office, DIY projects, and more.

BioLite BaseCharge 1500
BioLite BaseCharge 1500

Central to the new line are the BaseCharge 600 and BaseCharge 1500, high-performance rechargeable power stations that effectively give users a wall outlet wherever they go thanks to the internal AC Inverter. In addition to that home-grade power, users can also plug into an array of DC ports (commonly used in RV/Overlanding devices), USB-A, USB-C, and USB-C PD at a full 100W rating, ideal for laptops and hungrier personal electronics. Customers looking to cut the cord entirely can utilize the wireless charging deck atop both models, a unique feature in the category that delivers added convenience while serving the most common customer needs.

“We want customers to feel in control of their energy, and that starts with offering plug-and-play port solutions that deliver the right power for the task at hand,” says VP of Product Management Ryan Gist, “by connecting users to the appropriate types and levels of power, they can maximize the efficiency of that energy stored in the BaseCharge. This, combined with our easy-read dashboard, enables customers to get going quickly and intuitively, requiring no learning curve and really demystifying what’s going on in their system, which becomes all the more important when energy is scarce.”

Determined to enter the market with an offer that is “the easiest to use and easiest to understand,” BioLite engineers developed an Easy Read Dashboard that not only calculates inputs, outputs, and battery life remaining in real-time, it also features a message center that alerts users to port activations, system notifications, troubleshooting actions, and warnings as well as a resettable energy odometer that can measure usage over time, making customers more aware of their own habits and behaviors.

“From screentime on your phone to steps on your pedometer, folks are tracking all sorts of consumption patterns these days,” says Gist, “this feature is another way customers can feel even more in control, taking the guesswork out of their actual usage. This can help prepare for future trips or situations as well as create personal goals around finding ways to be more energy efficient in the same use case.”

BioLite’s BaseCharge series is not only convenient, but it’s also safe and reliable to use, featuring a 12 Checkpoint Safety System that is constantly monitoring the internal circuitry of the unit to ensure that customers can plug in and operate their network of devices with confidence.

“When setting out to develop the BaseCharge, we knew that safety and reliability had to be at the forefront,” said CEO and Co-Founder Jonathan Cedar. “Over the past decade, we’ve been providing safe, reliable large-scale power to millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa where solar power and battery management is critical to daily life. We were really able to cut our teeth in delivering energy solutions that are safe, durable, and extremely efficient. We’re thrilled to be applying those learnings in the outdoor market today with this new lineup.”

In addition to the BaseCharge power stations, BioLite is also releasing the SolarPanel 100, a compact, foldable 100-watt solar panel that can be paired with BaseCharge to create a full solar generator system. Enabled with BioLite’s Optimal Sun System, the panels feature an onboard sundial and easy-use kickstand to help customers orient their panels for direct sunshine, a small but critical detail in maximizing power collected from the sun.

Up to four SolarPanel 100s can be daisy chained, offering up to 400 watts of power which can refill a BaseCharge 1500 in direct sun in as little as 4 hours. Alternatively, users can also utilize these panels independent of power stations, offering direct charging to devices via the integrated USB-C and USB-A ports.

BaseCharge 600 and 1500 will be available internationally, with region-specific models available to meet local port and voltage requirements.
